At this year's Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools and Chevy will be showcasing the Music Therapy Program. The goal of the program is to educate and empower local Gulf area youth through music. The division sponsored a Music Therapy workshop at this year's annual training week and provided six schools with the instruments necessary to develop the Music Therapy program.
